Period Product Drive
The School of Social Work at ASU's Watt's College hosted a Menstrual Hygiene Product Drive throughout February and March.

Event and marketing coordinator Cassie Burtis put together this three-part event to combat the issue of period poverty in the Phoenix area.
They partnered with the Keys To Change campus in Phoenix to pass out the pouches they made at a packaging party that volunteers were able to attend and help package the donated products into bags.

Volunteers were also able to attend the pass out at the campus and receive a tour of their services and how they serve the unhoused population here in Downtown Phoenix.
The event first started off with donations made in-person and online through an Amazon wish list.

"I think the second part of that is really bringing awareness to our students and helping them engage with this particular population and just give them insight into what kind of the struggles look like so I think that was kind of the second piece was to really engage our students in this cause."
- Cassie Burtis, ASU School of Social Work Event Coordinator
"To have the energy of undergrad students and, you know, young people coming to our campus seeing and understanding and maybe having their eyes open to what the reality looks like, and, and being open in their hearts to, to to be transformed, by that witness, is, is a huge infusion of, of hope for the people who are on the ground day to day doing the work."
- Kim Beaudoin, Keys To Change Marketing and Communications Manager
