Period poverty
The lack of access to menstrual products is widely known as the crisis of period poverty.
The National Library of Medicine considers it “a neglected public health issue” as many women struggle to afford pads and tampons to help assist in the management of their menstrual cycles.

Along with the financial burden, stigmas around women’s health and menstruation in general continue to bar the assistance in eliminating this issue.

Many women have to be faced with the humiliation of dealing with their period due to societal standards leaving them to figure out on their own or left with the choice to spend their money on necessities like food and housing or their period products.
